As the sky slowly opens up, we recently took a trip to Lombardy, in northern Italy and more specifically to Lake Como. This upscale seaside region is known for its spectacular scenery. The lake is shaped like an upside-down Y, with three slender branches that meet at the resort town of Bellagio. At the end of the south-western branch is the town of Como, with its Renaissance architecture and a funicular railway to the mountain town of Brunate.
So it was at Grand Hotel Tremezzo, located next to the park of Villa Carlotta, that we put down our suitcases for a stay that would mark us forever, as the breathtaking view of Lake Como and Bellagio, is simply a magical panorama. It is one of the most beautiful and oldest luxury hotels on the shores of Lake Como. This luxurious setting imagined by Enea Gandola, Gentleman of Bellagio, is an authentic Art Nouveau Palace, which will make you relive all the fascination of the resort and the flavor of a sweet and smiling hospitality. Greta Garbo, the Swedish-born American actress evoked it in the famous film « Grand Hotel » (1932) as a sunny little town where life is good.
The current owner, Valentina de Santis, has preserved the elegance and beauty of the period interior architecture of this historic jewel that opened on July 10, 1910.
The capsule collection from Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Sense Of Lake, perfectly reflects this Italian art of living by proposing a line of clothing and fashion accessories developed in collaboration with the pillars of local craftsmanship such as: Mantero 1902, one of the most famous silk manufacturers in Como. In its vast factory, it creates and manufactures the most beautiful silks for couture, all brands included. its historical archive, considered one of the world’s richest and most extraordinary ones.
F.R.S. is the monogram of Francesca Ruffini Stoppani, the heart of this project and a true Lake Como lover. The special collection was created to radiate the very spirit of Grand Hotel Tremezzo, inspired by the lush gardens and breathtaking views over the lake of the hotel.
For Restless Sleepers, whose long, contemporary bathrobes are inspired by the kimono. They glow with shimmering vintage prints that set off the hotel’s lush gardens and historic frescoes.
There is also a collaboration with Bric’s Milano, still in the family fold from father to son and grandson since its creation by Mario Briccola. They are only high luxury luggage ready to travel all over the world. Hence these suitcases, from the Bellagio line, showing a woman languishing by the lake, admiring the breathtaking view under an azure blue sky. This exclusive selection of luggage and the special edition dedicated to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo is inspired by the timeless elegance of Lake Como.
Two other respective partnerships have resulted in the Carol Tramezzo bag from Ninè, a purse in raffia stitched with Swarovski rhinestones and with Babusch, these are beautiful silk clutches in bright colors.
